Everyone needs to experience the Yinchuan Lantern Festival Parade, and on February 19 thousands of people did. The parade is the final new year celebration, and it is the perfect way to wrap up all of the festivities.

The Yinchuan Lantern Festival Parade is an event that the people of Yinchuan look forward to every year. We want you to be well prepared so that you can experience all that the parade has to offer.

Here are four tips to help you enjoy the Yinchuan Lantern Festival Parade to the fullest extent:

#1 Secure a spot at the start of the parade

This year the parade route started at the Ningxia People’s Square and ended at the Zhongshan Park. I decided to find a place at the end of the route. The parade was filled with groups that carried banners, played drums, and danced, but it was evident that the participants were all exhausted by the end. Afterwards, I found an online video that captured the opening ceremony and the beginning of the parade. It was an entirely different experience and atmosphere, so be sure to secure a spot at the beginning of the parade.

#2 Be Flexible

Not only will you need to allot enough time to make it to the event in case of traffic, but you will also want to enjoy the parade to the fullest extent. With that said, events in Yinchuan can run behind, and it can be frustrating if you have planned a full schedule for the day. By being flexible, you will be able to slow down and take in all that you are seeing and experiencing. For many, you do not get to experience the Chinese New Year every year, so make sure you enjoy every second.

#3 Dress Warm

Winter in Yinchuan can be cold. You will want to be that you wear plenty of layers. By wearing plenty of clothes, you will be ready to experience any other events that may be happening afterwards.

#4 Ask a local about any other festivities

It can be easy to rely solely on online information to find out what events are happening. If you do, you might find that you missed out on an incredible event. While you are waiting for the parade to start, take the time to ask the locals around you what else is going on for the rest of the day. Not only will they be thrilled to tell you, but they might ask if they can escort you there.

I hope you have enjoyed all of the new year festivities, and I hope that these four tips are helpful to you in the future! Happy Chinese New Year!
